1. Will Dynamic Linker slow my site down?
Dynamic Linker is written in C++, and is recognised by IIS as a
high priority filter. The result is a high-speed ISAPI filter that
will open up your site to the search engines.
2. Is Dynamic Linker only available for IIS, or can I use
it on UNIX too?
Dynamic Linker is written for Microsoft's Internet Information
Server only. Do contact us if you would
like to see a UNIX version - if there is sufficient demand we may
develop such a solution for you!
3. Can Dynamic Linker handle multiple variables in a web
address?
Indeed it can! It can process "products.asp?id=754&val2=xyz"
as well as "products.asp?id=754". We have prepared code
on the downloads page to help you to
build the appropriate Dynamic Linker URL's.
4. Can Dynamic Linker handle files in all directories or
only in the root directory?
It can handle files in all directories. The only exception to this
is the Trial version, which is restricted to files in a directory
called dyntrial.
5. Do I need access to the IIS server to install Dynamic
Linker?
Either you, or your ISP will have to install Dynamic Linker for
you. This is because it is a system dll and can only be installed
by someone with full access to the server.
